Colour Creations is a colour and style consultancy based in Cumbria. Set up by Maureen Lawrie, it has helped many women achieve new found confidence in the way they look.

Maureen's first passion was the theatre and she spent 10 years working on and off stage trying to make a living! She graduated into teaching drama and spent 12 years passing on the joy of theatre to young people and still keeps a hand in in her local community.

Her interest in complementary therapy grew as she experienced the many benefits it has to offer.


Having discovered the amazing power of colour ten years ago she has been studying it since and this has developed into the importance of colour in clothes. Maureen has recently fulfilled her dream of becoming self-employed and now works as a Remedial Massage Therapist, Colour and Style Consultant and Colour Therapist.

Colour Creations is based in Cockermouth but can travel to other areas. Extra charges may apply.

“What an enlightening evening!  Eight enthusiastic ladies were treated to an evening of colour and style from Maureen.  For most of us it was unknown territory.  Ages ranged from “mature” to early 20s with two ladies getting married next year and eagerly looking for help with their wedding dresses.  They were not disappointed.  None of us were. We learned that no colours are taboo but it’s getting the right shade of colour that’s important.  We are now all aware of the skilful use of subtlety in colours, how to flatter our body shape and, best of all, how to disguise those “awkward” areas we all complain about.

Maureen’s approach is very practical, helpful and informative.  Under her guidance you discover the colours and accessories that can change your appearance tenfold with very little effort.  A scarf, a handbag, an item of jewellery, all these little touches shown to us produced dropped jaws and wide eyes at the complete change!  It was a lovely revelation.  We were given food for thought and Maureen clearly enjoyed seeing the changes. Personally, although I was aware of the style of clothing I know and like, a whole new range of colours has been opened up to me.  I can’t change everything in my wardrobe at once but I now bypass certain colours and think more carefully about how to put colours together.  My summer wardrobe is getting a refit with very little effort.  I can’t believe how few changes I’ve made but I’m mixing and matching like a good ‘un!  Impulse buying should be a thing of the past.  I always carry my colour chart now.
