“Each of the three consultations I’ve had – individually, with my sister and a colour and style evening with friends - has been enormously helpful, informative and great fun. Maureen combines knowledge, flair, professionalism and empathy in her approach and the result is a stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Her ability to be positive and encouraging and show us how to turn an ok outfit into something stunning by adding one or two accessories which express our personality and compliment our complexion is a revelation. We have all been shopping in a more focussed way since and hopefully will make fewer impulsive and disastrous purchases in future. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and genuine interest in each of us.” Ann Forster, Retired, Arnside |
“My friend and I were lucky enough to have a morning styling session with Maureen. We learnt some great new tricks of the trade many of which I have already put into action. We spent some time looking at various outfits we had brought in from home and she showed us how to rescue “mistake” purchases with the help of the right accessories - a colourful scarf or even just the right footwear. I am hoping to have a colour session with her as soon as possible. Emma McKeown, Events Officer, Tullie House Museum, Carlisle |
“My work colleague and I had great fun working through a mountain of clothes which we had brought from home - trying them on to see which ones were really unflattering and discovering others that looked a lot better than we had previously thought with help from Maureen who showed us how to transform something just by a few accessories or a touch of colour. This has helped me to avoid expensive disasters in the sales! The whole morning was enlightening and truly helpful. Maureen’s support, encouragement and non-intrusive manner dissipated an otherwise potentially embarrassing Trinney and Susanne moment!” Angie Ball, Events Officer, Tullie House Museum, Carlisle |
“My friend and I had a very enjoyable day with Maureen – we both learned a lot and had a few surprises! After my consultation, I was able to visit the sales with renewed confidence that I would not be seduced by purchases I would later regret and was also able to incorporate new colour combinations which suit my complexion whilst being suitable for the workplace. I was delighted with the very comprehensive style file supplied as part of the consultation. It was a useful personalised reminder and gave me further advice to take into account in my shopping. I anticipate that the charity shops will do well as I slowly clear my wardrobe! I will be able to shop much more cost effectively as I select clothes that I can mix and match and best of all feel confident wearing.” Valerie Hallard, Learning and Skills Council, Workington |
Maureen’s approach is very practical, helpful and informative. Under her guidance you discover the colours and accessories that can change your appearance tenfold with very little effort. A scarf, a handbag, an item of jewellery, all these little touches shown to us produced dropped jaws and wide eyes at the complete change! It was a lovely revelation. We were given food for thought and Maureen clearly enjoyed seeing the changes. Personally, although I was aware of the style of clothing I know and like, a whole new range of colours has been opened up to me. I can’t change everything in my wardrobe at once but I now bypass certain colours and think more carefully about how to put colours together. My summer wardrobe is getting a refit with very little effort. I can’t believe how few changes I’ve made but I’m mixing and matching like a good ‘un! Impulse buying should be a thing of the past. I always carry my colour chart now. Nothing about the evening disappointed any of us, it was thoroughly enjoyable and something we would all certainly recommend. Thank you Maureen from all of us.” Rhona Bell, Senior Assistant to Chief Executive, Whitehaven |
